Benefits (Full-time Employees - 30 hours+): Medical Plan (100% coverage for employee & 25% coverage for independent) Medical Expense Reimbursement Plan (up to $5,500) Dental Plan (100% coverage for employee & 25% coverage for independent) Vision Plan (100% coverage for employee & 25% coverage for independent) 403(B) Retirement Plan Flexible Spending Account Basic Life & AD&D coverage of $50,000 (100% coverage for employee) Long-term Disability Plan (100% coverage for employee) Flexible Schedule Paid Time-off Paid Training Ample FREE Parking Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, the Swim Instructor/Lifeguard, multi-tasks on an ongoing basis but not limited to include: plan, organize, lead and/or assist, lifeguard and supervise various diversified and adaptive recreational activities for a variety of disabled individuals and customer groups of all ages. In addition, this position is also responsible for customer service of all new and existing customers; communicating to patrons if the pool is shut down for maintenance, maintain the facilities and care of the pool, gym, and equipment. This position does not supervisor other employees, however may include the support and training of staff, interns, and volunteers as assigned. Additional assisting duties may be assigned as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Overseeing Program Activities: Provide and assist with lifeguarding services for all patrons of the facility on a daily basis Lead aquatic programs Assist participants and customers in the water - as scheduled Teach group swim lessons - as scheduled Assist and provide all other aspects of program activities, as needed and assigned Administrative Duties: Provide positive customer service and maintain organized front desk Act as a first point of contact and provide excellent customer service to all patrons using and not using the pool Provide and explain services offered, depending on age, swimming competency and/or medical provider authorization & costs Enroll customers in appropriate aquatic classes Ensure customers sign in appropriately for select classes Other administrative duties as requested OLS Pool Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain safety and cleanliness of pool area (free of debris, floats, water accessories/toys, etc.) Maintain equipment used in the pool, consulting with supervisor if external repair companies are needed. Perform other pool safety and cleanliness as needed and assigned QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty's satisfactorily. Accurately interpret a variety of instructions presented in different forms, such as communications, written, oral, diagrams/ charts, schedules, etc. Requirements REQUIREMENTS: High school graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required Current lifeguard training, First Aid and CPFPR certification required Current WSI (Water Safety Instructor) certification preferred. One to two years experience working with individuals with special needs preferred. Work effectively with a variety of personalities and be sensitive to the unique needs/communication styles of persons served Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
