Job Title: Footwear Designer

Location: Beaverton, OR

Duration : 5+ Months

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH…

As a footwear designer in WOMEN’S TRAINING, you will be working hand-in-hand with a large project team of different professionals (engineers, researchers, scientists, marketing, testing, sustainability, materials, costing, etc.) and collaborating within the design community (product designers, materials, color, graphics, computational, etc.). You will work under the direction of our Senior Design Director, as well as other functional leaders, to ensure alignment across all sectors.

As a Footwear Designer in WOMEN’S TRAINING, you will help bring industry-leading innovative footwear designs from concept to reality. We value strong, style forward insights and passion for our consumers in providing them with style forward iconic designs to serve their performance needs.

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, a related field or equivalent combination of education, experience or training
  • Previous experience designing and developing innovative footwear

  • Knowledge of form, color, materials, human factors, related to elevating the consumer experience

  • Strong Photoshop, Illustrator skills
  • Must be able to build accurate 2D technical drawings (tech packs)
  • Cobbling and prototyping skills are a plus
  • 3D design programs experience is a plus
  • Strong sketching, illustration, and rendering skills
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
  • Knowledge and experience with sustainable design and manufacturing are a plus
  • Experienced with presentation programs: Keynote, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON…

In WOMEN’S TRAINING, you will design innovative footwear to meet consumers’ performance as well as style needs. You will collaborate with many project teammates in areas like development, engineering, marketing, testing, color design, material design/development, and graphic design to bring the shoe from concept to market. With each project, you are encouraged to also participate and present the work in formal and informal reviews.

WHQ - Pat leave coverage for a footwear designer on the Women's Sport & Training Footwear Product Design team. They’ll design shoes for performance, function, and style. They’ll make design alterations based on Athlete feedback and create technical drawings for factory production.

INCLUDE portfolio - experience in running and training shoe performance

Must Have:

  • 5+ YEO footwear design- Performance footwear or athletic shoes
  • Experience revising designs. Can take feedback from athletes, testers, PMs, to make design updates
  • Experience creating technical drawings, understands factory designs, can complete revisions for the factory

Nice to Have:

  • Women's shoe design experience - women's training shoes, women's lifestyle shoes
  • More experienced with technical design aspects and expertise in shoe design
  • Strong view point and design style
