Job Description

Attorney - Real Estate Development

📍 Georgetown, TX | Full-Time | On-Site

A privately owned real estate development firm based in Central Texas is looking to bring on an in-house attorney to support its ongoing growth. This position will report directly to the company’s General Counsel and play a key role in handling legal matters related to land acquisition, development agreements, and builder contracts .

This is a permanent, on-location role and candidates must be licensed to practice law in Texas .

Key Areas of Focus:

  • Drafting and reviewing documents for land purchases and sales , including deeds, closing packages, and related agreements
  • Title review and resolution of related issues
  • Assisting with due diligence for prospective land acquisitions
  • Reviewing and comparing agreements with national and regional builders
  • Preparing easements and coordinating utility-related legal documentation
  • Supporting the entitlement process in coordination with planning and engineering teams
  • Communicating with internal departments and external partners to ensure smooth project timelines

What You'll Need:

  • A J.D. and active Texas Bar membership
  • At least 1–4 years of relevant legal experience (real estate law, transactions, or land use preferred)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable navigating legal matters with municipalities, districts, and private utility providers
  • Prior experience with special utility districts (MUDs) is a bonus
  • Working familiarity with Outlook and basic legal CRM platforms helpful
