Sportfish Captain

Location : Palmetto, FL (Riviera Dunes Marina)

About the Vessel
Operate a meticulously maintained 2022 Viking 54 Convertible based in Palmetto, FL, providing top-notch sportfishing experiences along the West Coast, Gulf of Mexico, and the Bahamas.

Position Overview
We seek an experienced Sportfish Captain with a passion for sportfishing, expertise in various techniques, and a professional, flexible demeanor.

• Pay of $100,000 to $150,000 Depending on Experience

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and navigate the vessel for fishing and cruising trips.
• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs.
• Guide guests in fishing activities, including bottom fishing, trolling, and deep dropping.
• Maintain a positive, professional attitude, ensuring a fun experience.
• Be adaptable to last-minute changes and spontaneous plans.
• Coordinate with the owner to ensure smooth trips and satisfaction.

Requirements

• US Coast Guard 50-ton Captain’s License.
• Proven experience as a Sportfish Captain, ideally on similar vessels.
• Knowledge of sportfishing techniques and excellent navigation skills.
• Strong vessel maintenance skills.
• Excellent communication and flexibility with scheduling.
• Positive, professional attitude, especially with young guests.

Schedule
March–June: Bahamas, DR, Puerto Rico, USVI & BVI (Captain stays with the vessel, trips home every 3-4 weeks possible)
August & October: Keys trips, plus regular West Coast day trips.
