Unix Administrators are responsible for planning, designing and managing servers. Those **duties** include but are not limited to: + Administer and maintain UNIX based systems; improve existing systems; troubleshoot and resolve system problems; and create, implement, and maintain system security. + Procure and communicate information about system specifications, requirements, and limitations. + Install, configure, repair, and maintain UNIX based systems. + Provide technical support to end users. + Provide technical support to management. + Provide technical support to other global peers. + Develop and maintain system documentation. + Manage service provider team. Specific **responsibilities** include but are not limited to: + Monitor and maintain corporate servers, including equipment, operating systems, software, and support applications, including security and disaster recovery plans. + Creating and maintaining UNIX user accounts and access management systems. + Ensure server systems are up to date and backed up so that information is protected, and system uptime is maximized. + Work with backup and restore teams to ensure data backups and system refreshes are performed on time and accurately. + Maintain system security by implementing and enforcing security policies, regulations, and standards. Applying patches and upgrades when necessary. + Troubleshoot network, server, and database problems and provide support to other technical teams to resolve them. + Work with Global Unix team and Service providers to support all aspects of a large Linux environment. + Making recommendations for upgrades to hardware and software based on existing operations, pending needs and available budget. **Work Experience:** + Typically 8+ years with bachelor's or equivalent. **Education and Certification(s):** + Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained. **Distinguishing Characteristics:** + RedHat + Linux + Azure + OpenShift \#LI-HYBRID **What We Offer:** Our employees work hard to live our values and help us grow.
