Job Description
Are you a seasoned SEO professional who is passionate about leading cutting-edge organic search strategy and mentoring a team? If so, we'd love to talk with you! We are in search of a candidate to lead our SEO department, ideally with a minimum of five years experience in an SEO Director role and a strong track record of delivering measurable improvements in organic search outcomes. This position requires a strategic leader with a proven ability to optimize websites for search engines, boost rankings, and enhance online visibility across various industries. Local candidates preferred, but we are open to a hybrid remote discussion (some in-office time for training, meetings, and events). Relocation assistance is also available!
The SEO Director will be instrumental in guiding our digital marketing efforts and ensuring our online presence aligns with our broader business objectives. Your expertise will be crucial in helping the team implement targeted initiatives focused on strengthening site authority, optimizing strategic content, and improving the user experience. You will have the rewarding challenge of innovating SEO strategies that incorporate the latest trends and technologies while collaborating with various teams to ensure a cohesive and holistic approach to search engine optimization.
You will also lead, mentor, and develop a team of SEO specialists, helping them stay ahead of industry developments and best practices to ensure a cutting-edge strategy. The SEO Director will promote a culture of ongoing learning and adaptability to enable the team to respond swiftly to shifts in the SEO landscape. You’ll also work closely with executive leadership, providing insights on performance and guiding the strategic direction to drive the company’s success in the digital space.
What You Will Do
Spearhead the creation and execution of SEO strategies aimed at boosting organic search rankings and driving traffic to the website.
Lead a cross-functional team of SEO experts, content creators, and developers, ensuring the adoption of best practices to meet team objectives.
Conduct thorough keyword research and competitive analysis to guide content creation and optimization approaches.
Track and evaluate SEO performance using tools like Google Analytics, SEMrush, and Ahrefs, sharing insights and reports with key stakeholders.
Collaborate with various teams, such as content, marketing, and web development, to seamlessly integrate SEO practices into all digital projects.
Stay informed about the latest industry trends, algorithm updates, and new technologies to ensure effective ongoing optimization.
Enhance the website's structure, on-page content, and technical SEO to improve user experience and maximize conversion rates.
Manage relationships with external SEO agencies and vendors, ensuring alignment with the company’s objectives.
Mentor and train SEO team members, fostering a culture of continuous development and innovation within the department.
Create and deliver training sessions and materials to elevate SEO awareness and best practices across the organization.
What You Bring
10+ years of experience in senior SEO roles, including a minimum of 3 years in a director-level capacity.
Expertise in SEO principles, tools, and analytics.
Mastery of both on-page and off-page optimization strategies.
Strong technical SEO knowledge, including site architecture, indexing, and structured data implementation.
Experience in developing and executing content marketing strategies aligned with SEO objectives.
Advanced analytical skills with a track record of using SEO tools to drive data-backed decisions.
Proven leadership abilities with experience managing and nurturing high-performing teams.
Outstanding communication and presentation skills, capable of simplifying complex concepts for non-technical audiences.
Passionate about SEO and digital marketing, with a keen interest in the evolving landscape of the field.
Extensive experience with web analytics, including advanced use of Webmaster Tools.
A creative and strategic thinker, adept at identifying and addressing challenges.
Self-driven and capable of juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
Comprehensive understanding of digital marketing channels, including paid search, social media, digital PR, and web development.
Expert in analyzing raw data and extracting actionable insights from field research.
Well-versed in the latest industry trends, shifts, and future market projections.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
Advanced proficiency in Google Workspace tools.
In-depth experience with Google Search Console.
Ability to thrive both independently and in a collaborative team setting.
