Description Our client is a well-established real estate and property management firm based in Encinitas, CA. As a Property Accountant, you'll work closely with a talented and dynamic team, ensuring the financial health of the organization while building your expertise in the property management industry. Key Responsibilities: + Manage accounting functions for a portfolio of properties, including preparing journal entries, bank and account reconciliations, and month-end closings. + Oversee tenant rent collections, security deposits, and lease-related financials, ensuring accurate and timely processing. + Prepare monthly financial reports for property owners and stakeholders, including income statements, balance sheets, and variance analyses. + Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable, handling vendor payments, and reconciling tenant accounts effectively. + Utilize AppFolio property management software for all financial reporting and property accounting needs, ensuring efficient and accurate record-keeping. + Support annual budget preparation and assist in audits by providing detailed documentation and explanations. + Analyze property performance metrics, offering insights and recommendations to support operational decision-making. Requirements + Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required. + 2-3 years of property accounting experience, preferably in residential or commercial real estate. + Proficiency in AppFolio property management software (required) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs. + Knowledge of GAAP accounting standards and familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis in the real estate sector. + Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail. + Ability to multitask and adhere to strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
