Egnyte is scouting for a Principal Applied Data Scientist to drive innovation and leadership across AI initiatives, with a special emphasis on GenAI and NLP solutions. As a Principal Applied Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Gen AI at Egnyte by defining technical strategy, driving the development of predictive models and insights, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to turn complex data into actionable business solutions at scale. You will mentor and guide data science teams while providing expertise in state-of-the-art AI/ML practices, ensuring a robust production pipeline and the professional management of models.

WHAT YOUu2019LL DO:
Develop and own the data science roadmap that aligns with Egnyteu2019s business goals u00A0
Define success metrics and oversee the entire lifecycle of data initiatives from concept to production deployment. u00A0
Architect, develop, and deploy state-of-the-art machine learning models
Champion best practices in model development, validation, and monitoring in production environments u00A0
Partner with product, engineering, and business teams to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions
Provide technical leadership and mentor the data science team
Architect and provide production monitoring and support for Egnyteu2019s ML services
Stay ahead of industry trends by continuously evaluating emerging technologies and methodologies in data science and machine learning
Represent Egnyteu2019s technical excellence through publications, presentations, and participation in industry events u00A0

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
10+ years of professional experience in data science with a proven track record in building and supporting production grade ML systems
Must be highly proficient in Python with hands-on experience in machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch )
Experience with natural language processing (NLP) and/or computer vision techniques
Experience working with RAG pipelines and LLMs
Experience working with large-scale datasets and distributed computing platforms like GCP
Strong understanding of ML lifecycle and MLOps practices
Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana and logging systems e.g. ELK stack
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to system reliability and observability
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively present complex insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience providing technical leadership to engineers
Willingness to be in office 3 days per week

Preferred Qualifications :
Prior experience in enterprise software, cloud security, or content governance industries is a plus
Proficiency in additional programming languages such as Java, Scala, or Go

COMPENSATION:
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across multiple U.S. geographic locations, and pay varies based on defined markets. The standard base pay range for this position across the U.S. is $210k - $240k annually. Pay varies by work location and may also be dependent on job-related skills, knowledge, and/or experience.
