Position Summary:
PTI is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Analyst Intern to support business development efforts, internal projects, and technical documentation. This role is ideal for students interested in combining analytical thinking, technical writing, and business operations. The intern will assist in preparing business proposals, developing use cases and story epics, and writing project-related documents such as Statements of Work (SOWs). This position provides valuable experience at the intersection of technology and strategy, especially within the government contracting space.
Key Responsibilities:Assist in writing and editing Statements of Work (SOWs) , Use Cases , User Stories , and Story Epics to support software development and technical projects.
Support business development activities , including:
Drafting content for proposals and capabilities statements.
Conducting research on prospective clients, opportunities (e.g., on SAM.gov), and market trends.
Assisting with proposal responses and teaming documentation.
Analyze and document technical and business requirements for internal and external stakeholders.
Support development of internal process documentation and SOPs.
Participate in stakeholder interviews, discovery sessions, and requirements-gathering meetings.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and executives to refine scope and deliverables.
Maintain organized documentation using PTI's tools (SharePoint, Teams, etc.).
Assist with presentations and dashboards to communicate project or business insights.
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Business, Information Systems, Technical Writing, or a related field.
Excellent writing and communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
Ability to clearly synthesize technical and business information.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with SharePoint is a plus.
Self-starter with strong organizational and time management abilities.
Interest in business development, technology, and government contracting.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Coursework or experience related to proposal writing, project documentation, or business analysis.
Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar tools is a plus.
Exposure to federal contracting environments (through internships or academic projects) is helpful.
Practical experience in business analysis and business development.
Exposure to government contracting workflows and client engagement processes.
Hands-on training in writing formal project documentation and technical content.
